We recruited a group of young researchers to new tech applications that truly enhance productivity across work and life.
We focus especially on devices that suffer from the
digital divide — products most people own but don’t know how to fully use.
We started with iPads, but we’re not stopping there.
Bringing Quality and Convenience to Everyday Life
While studying tech usage, we discovered another group —
people who don’t chase productivity but own tablets for everyday tasks,
especially
seniors who often face barriers in learning new tech.
That’s when we realized:
Revitalizing 3C devices isn’t only about boosting productivity —
it’s also about
bringing comfort, convenience, and connection to everyday life.
Partnering with organizations like
Smart Living Association and
Keelung Community Offices, we hosted over
30 workshops on tablet basics, app usage, e-reading, and digital art for older adults.
These programs were even
supported by the Keelung City Government.
Our rule is simple:
“If Grandma can understand it — we’ve done it right.”
Lowering the Barrier to Entry — Case Study
To make tech more accessible, we collaborated with Chiwen Art Studio to offer tablet drawing experience workshops.
At each session, Guoguo provides iPads for free, so participants without their own devices can still try digital drawing.
If they enjoy the experience, they can purchase at a discounted price on-site. This “try first, buy later” model encourages rational, needs-based consumption — a philosophy we deeply believe in.
